September – Homes

Our aistear theme for the month of September was all about myself, my family and homes. We explored the theme of homes at different stations daily. At the small world station we enjoyed playing with the figures and furniture at the doll’s house. At the role play station we were very busy in the kitchen cooking meals for our families and cleaning up afterwards. At the art station we made lots of fabulous things and we also worked on our cutting skills. Our favourite station was the construction station where we made all sorts of houses including towers, caravans etc. using blocks and the polydrons.

In art we printed our hands on our first day of school, we decorated our names with colourful paper and we made a class jigsaw.

Below are some photos of our imaginative “house” constructions.

June – Summer/Going on Holidays

Our final aistear theme for the year was summer and we explored going on holidays and the airport. At the construction station we were very busy creating runways, aeroplanes, control towers etc. At the art station we made different insects: butterflies, ladybirds and bees. We imagined ourselves at the beach and had great fun playing at the sand table. Our final station was the playdoh station where we created all sorts of summer things.

May – The Fire Station

Our aistear theme for the month was the fire station. We explored the theme through different stations: roleplay, construction, cut and stick, small world and art. Below are some pictures taken.
