A Farmer visited Room 1

Last week Junior Infants in Room 1 were learning about the farm.   A farmer visited our class and he brought in a 6 day old lamb for us to pet.  We all came up with a name to call the lamb and the most popular name was Rosie.  We asked the farmer questions about farm animals and we talked about how we can stay safe on a farm.  We then made our own lambs in Art and we sat in our artist chair and talked about our art pieces.

World Book Day

World Book Day 2018 takes place on Thursday, March 1st. As part of this event we are encouraging children (and parents) to enjoy the pleasures of reading and SHARE A STORY on World Book Day… and every day. Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their outcome and it’s fun for all involved. You can read together anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime! In the park, on the train, on the sofa, on a plane – reading and sharing stories can happen anywhere at any time.
