World Book Day

For World Book Day;

  • We dressed up as a character from a book
  • We brought in our favourite books
  • TY students from Creagh College came in to read Pirate Pete and his Parrot to us
  • We had storytime with two books Harry and the Dirty Dog and The Tooth
  • We started our 1st class novel Jasper Saves the Day

World Book Day 2019

It was a very unusual day today in Junior Infants. When teacher went out to the yard to collect the children they were nowhere to be seen…instead she found lots of book characters standing in the line!

There were dinosaurs, superheroes and princesses. Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland and Dorothy also made an appearance along with lots more characters!

World Book Day

World Book Day 2018 takes place on Thursday, March 1st. As part of this event we are encouraging children (and parents) to enjoy the pleasures of reading and SHARE A STORY on World Book Day… and every day. Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their outcome and it’s fun for all involved. You can read together anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime! In the park, on the train, on the sofa, on a plane – reading and sharing stories can happen anywhere at any time.
