Active Week in 3rd Class Day 1
Active Schools Week got off to a good start in Rang a Trí despite the inclement weather. First we had HIIT with Mrs. Murphy, Mrs. Armstrong, Mr. O’ Brien and Mag.
We then did some GoNoodle in the classroom and because it was Mia’s birthday, she got to pick which activity we did.
In the afternoon we teamed up with the other third classes for a soccer blitz. 4 teams played a match first while the others did fun activities and then we swapped after ten minutes. We had great fun.

World Book Day Celebrations 2023
World Book Day was a huge success here in St.Joseph’s Primary School. To celebrate World Book Day each child was given a World Book Day token to encourage reading . Every child could dress up as a favourite character from their favourite book and there was some fantastic costumes parading the school for the day . As a whole school we celebrated this day through a special announcement of DEAR time over the intercom . Classes were busy designing their own book covers as well as drawing their favourite characters . It was a positive experience for all and great effort was invested by parents, teachers and students . We all thoroughly enjoyed the day . Happy Reading !
Féile Fichille Chess Tournament in Wicklow
Three strong teams of chess players represented the school last week at the Féile Fichille Chess Tournament in Wicklow Educate Together NS. The 24 pupils who attended each played 6 games throughout the course of the day against opponents from other schools. Plenty of tactical skills were on display, as well as great respect shown at the beginning and end of each game, regardless of a win or a loss. We were absolutely delighted that our junior 3rd & 4th class team came in 1st place overall, an incredible achievement for these young players at their first ever chess tournament. Our two senior teams of 5th & 6th class pupils also performed fantastically, coming in 2nd and 6th place overall in their Masters category. We look forward to more exciting tournaments during the school year!
