Super Scientists
Science is still in full swing in Room 16. Lately we’ve been treated to lessons about
- How to make a homemade lava lamp
- Blowing bubbles within bubbles
- That fire in a large jar will last longer than in a small jar
- Vinegar and Bicarbonate of Soda can inflate a plastic lunch bag
- That apples, lemon juice and toothpaste all have different lives of pH
- Oobleck, the substance that can be both solid and liquid
- How to make a storm in a glass
- How to clean our pennies
Science Matters! Junior Scientists!!
For Science Week we decided to investigate what would happen when raisins were added to jars of sparkling water. Below is a list of our predictions.
We were all very surprised to see dancing raisins!
The Parachute Challenge
6th Class used their knowledge of forces, of air-resistance and gravity in particular, to build their own parachutes before competing against one another to see which was the most effective. Great fun was had by all although synchronised free-fall is easier said than done!! Watch us in action HERE.
