Mr. Kavanagh 5th class 20/04/20 – 01/05/20
Monday 20th April – Friday 1st May
5th class work for next two weeks, try your best with all work and don’t be stressed if having any issues, we will catch up on anything that needs addressing when it is safe to do so. There is no pressure to get all work completed just keep yourselves and your minds active as much as possible, make sure to keep on top of reading, spellings, tables and mental maths. Do your best and have fun. Take this time to learn new skills at home like helping around the house or in the garden, see how many books you can get read, how many interesting facts you can learn about various topics, improve your fitness but most importantly above all else stay safe and enjoy some quality time with your family.

All written work can be done in your copy or on sheets that you may have at home. Remember to have margin, heading and date. If you don’t have the right copy for a subject you can use any copy you have.
Remember to spread work out over the two weeks.

Tables – Practise your ‘mixed tables’ for 5 minutes each day on https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button (Hit the Button) and try beat your score. Record your highest score for when we are back to see who the champion is!

- 148 Qs 1-20, set 20 minute timer and see how many you can get done in that time. Remember with our problems read the question properly to yourself and see what the question is really looking for, be patient J

Art and Projects
Try some of these
-Design a soccer gaa or camogie jersey or a t-shirt for you favourite tv show or video game.
-You can also do projects on topics of your choice. ( people places hobbies art etc) I would love to see any projects you do. Pictures can be sent to me on my school email provided.
-This is a link to The Great Isolation Activity Book. They’re are some nice activities to do with your family of siblings. You may be able to print it or just use ideas from the booklet too and put your own stamp on it. Enjoy !!!!

Remember to try keep as active as possible and have fun.

-Obstacle course -create your own in your garden
- challenge yourself
- hurling/ football / soccer skills ( how many roll lifts in 30 secs / how many keepy uppys can you do in 30 secs etc (Check out Hurling 365/Peile 4 all online for weekly challenges)
- How many basketball dribbles in 30 secs
- Jog on the spot 30secs next day 60 secs Etc
Every Tuesday and Thursday at 12pm Kilkenny hurler TJ Reid does a brilliant online PE class live on his TJ Reid Health and Fitness Facebook page.

*Qs on pg.108-110 we need to find the price of one when looking for value or looking for the price of multiple products so always use the unitary method(Green boxes will help)
* Qs pg 111 when dealing with fractions remember we divide by the bottom and multiply by the top when finding a fraction of something eg: Find ¾ of 20 divide 4 into 20 and multiply answer by 3
and we divide by the top and multiply by the bottom when we have the fraction and are trying to find the whole number eg : ¾ = 21 find the whole number we divide 3 into 21 and multiply answer by 4
History:
**Small World History – Read Unit 11 ‘World Revolutions’ pg. 52
You will find some interesting=g facts on France for your Geography project.
Geography:
Complete project on France assigned before break of school.
P.E.:
It’s important to keep as active as you can so try and get some exercise in every day! Examples: a walk, a jog, practising your skills in a sport you are interested in, dancing!
