1st Class Australia Projects!

Well Done to all of the boys and girls in 1st class on their beautiful and interesting group projects about Australia!
We have been very busy learning all about Australia and we have been conducting our own research in school using ipads.
The class also painted some fantastic pieces of pointillism artwork based on Aboriginal Art!
1st Class Capacity!!
This week we are learning all about capacity. We started by making estimates on how many spoonsfuls, then how many cupfuls it would take to fill a big bowl, an egg cup, a yoghurt carton a cup, a jug and a pot. We recorded our estimates and then got to work on measuring to see if our estimates were correct!
We have also started learning about litres and the different things that are measured using litres.
You can help us learn more about capacity at home by checking the measure of different objects at home or by talking about the different amounts of liquid different things can hold. Here are some pictures of us measuring in maths!
