Family Summertime Portraits
What you can do with matchsticks, sand, pebbles, paper and paint! Just add amazing imaginations, “et voilà”!
The children first wrote about their family in Irish and then created these beautiful family portraits.
Musical Sound Effects – Ms Rochford’s 2nd
The children composed their own sound effects to accompany a song with various percussion instruments. When finished, we had our very own “session” as each group performed for the class. 
Volcanic Eruptions in … Ms Rochford’s 2nd!
We conducted volcanic eruption experiments with our handmade volcanoes and formed hypotheses as to why this happens. Then we wrote procedures on how to do this as part of procedural writing. Finally, in another Science lesson, we discovered why and how materials react to cause the eruptions.

2nd Class present Tuiseal Ginideach to 5th
Four boys from 2nd class took up the challenge to present the Tuiseal Ginideach to Mr O’Brien’s 5th class with great success. I think you’ll agree their presentation skills were also excellent. Ar fheabhas ar fad!
