Sports Day in Senior Infants

The three Senior Infant classes had a brilliant day at their sports day this week. We did lots of fun activities including the parachute, obstacle courses, throwing practice with javelins, hoops and beanbags, running races, crab races, relay races, as well as potato and spoon races and sack races. The children had lots of fun in the sunshine and finished the day off with ice pops and sweets. Well done to everyone for a great day!

The Garden Centre Fun in Senior Infants

We’ve been learning all about the garden centre over the last month in Senior Infants. We’ve planted seeds and gone on flower, minibeast and bee hunts. In Aistear, the children have built garden centres from blocks, had sensory play with soil and sand, made plants and flowers from playdoh and did lots of artwork including buncase flowers, potato prints, ladybirds and toilet roll bumble bees. We said goodbye to our student teacher, Miss Moynihan after 5 weeks of lovely lessons and great fun!

Christmas is Senior Infants 🎄

We had great fun over the last week in Room 6. We did various Christmas activities every day including Pin the Beard on Santa, Pin the Nose on Rudolf, a table quiz, making virtual hugs, making our own Rudolf, Christmas musical statues and even a visit from Santa himself on Monday!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy Christmas and we will see you in  the New Year.

🎄Spreading Christmas Cheer 🎄

All the children of St. Joseph’s designed a stocking, bauble, present or Christmas jumper to display in Gorey Shopping Centre. Be sure to take a look!

A big thank you to the SET team and Alan for organising such a beautiful display.
