World Book Day Celebrations 2023
World Book Day was a huge success here in St.Joseph’s Primary School. To celebrate World Book Day each child was given a World Book Day token to encourage reading . Every child could dress up as a favourite character from their favourite book and there was some fantastic costumes parading the school for the day . As a whole school we celebrated this day through a special announcement of DEAR time over the intercom . Classes were busy designing their own book covers as well as drawing their favourite characters . It was a positive experience for all and great effort was invested by parents, teachers and students . We all thoroughly enjoyed the day . Happy Reading !
What have we been up to ?
We made crosses for St. Brigid’s Day .
Our Aistear theme for this month was the sports Shop.
We made our own clay medals.
We also painted and layered paper to make tennis rackets.
World Book Day in Senior Infants
Thursday the 2nd Of March was world book day. Lots of us dressed up as our Favorite character from a book. We also read a book as a whole class, said a poem about stories and took part in D.E.A.R time along with the rest of the school.
Minds under construction
Our theme for this month was houses and homes.
In maths, we learned all about length. Here we are measuring string from shortest to longest.
Our Aistear playtime was all based on the building theme. Here are some pictures of us during it.
We also learned all about electricity. We did an experiment with balloons on static electricity.
We made our own dream bedrooms using junk art materials .
