Maths Week 2023

We celebrated Maths week from 16th-20th October. All the classes took part in the Maths Eyes 👀 competition where we all had to look for Maths in our home environment. Once we trained our eyes we started to notice numbers, pattern, shapes, angles, lines, measures… Maths is everywhere! One photo was chosen from each class and there was an overall winner in the Junior, Middle and Senior classes.
Another competition we had was to guess how many sweets were in the jar. Every student and teacher tried their best to estimate but Ademas and Mr. Cronin were the winners with the closest to 413 sweets.

Maths Eyes Competition

To celebrate maths week, the school ran a maths eyes competition. All the class sent in some great pictures and did great work with their maths all week. Well done everyone!

A special congratulations to Tuiren Doyle in our class who won the overall award for the Junior Category of the competition. Well done Tuiren! Here she is with her prizes and the winning picture.

Super Start to Junior Infants!

Here is some of what we have been getting up to, even if you asked what did we do today and we replied “Nothing!”

Proud of some of the patterns we made.

We were inspired by the story Cave Baby to do some cave paintings of our own.

This months theme is The Farm.

We started working on our Halloween Art using pom poms.

We have started to use the iPads in our literacy and numeracy lessons.

We went on a lovely nature walk, looking for signs of autumn.
