Maths Week 2023

We celebrated Maths week from 16th-20th October. All the classes took part in the Maths Eyes 👀 competition where we all had to look for Maths in our home environment. Once we trained our eyes we started to notice numbers, pattern, shapes, angles, lines, measures… Maths is everywhere! One photo was chosen from each class and there was an overall winner in the Junior, Middle and Senior classes.
Another competition we had was to guess how many sweets were in the jar. Every student and teacher tried their best to estimate but Ademas and Mr. Cronin were the winners with the closest to 413 sweets.

Super Start to Junior Infants!

Here is some of what we have been getting up to, even if you asked what did we do today and we replied “Nothing!”

Proud of some of the patterns we made.

We were inspired by the story Cave Baby to do some cave paintings of our own.

This months theme is The Farm.

We started working on our Halloween Art using pom poms.

We have started to use the iPads in our literacy and numeracy lessons.

We went on a lovely nature walk, looking for signs of autumn.

Active Day

Junior Infants had great fun participating in all the activities organised for European School Sports Day. We started the day with a school walk. We then completed an obstacle course. Finally, we had great fun at the different games stations set up in the infant yard. Many thanks to the playground leaders – you were super! We all really enjoyed getting active outside for the day! Check out the photos below.
