First Confession – Ms Rochford’s 2nd

On Wednesday, 12th February, children from all 2nd classes made their First Confession with Fr. Flynn, Fr. Banville or Fr. Kehoe.

Father spoke with the children as did Net Ministries. We learned afresh about God’s love and why it is important to ask for His forgiveness for the times we do not live as we should.

The children were then split into groups headed by their team leader from Net Ministries. There, they undertook small group activities while waiting to make their Confession.

A big thank you to the priests and Net Ministries for making the ceremony so meaningful for the children.

Finally, take a look at the children’s lovely art work, completed as part of their preparation for their First Confession.

Badminton Club Update

The St. Joseph’s Gorey Badminton Club is thriving with more members than ever before! Open to 5th and 6th class students, our club has been buzzing with excitement as we focus on improving our doubles game skills. The team has been working hard in preparation for the upcoming Leinster competition in January, and everyone is giving their best effort during practice. Recently, we were fortunate to have Garry from Leinster Badminton visit the school to lead a special training session, offering valuable tips and techniques to help us reach our full potential.

Creagh College TY Future Leaders Blitz

Creagh College TY Future Leaders Blitz

On September 13th, some of Rackard League football girls participated in an excellent blitz organised by Creagh College, along with many schools in the area. The girls put on a gallant display with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in their group games. With such success, the girls went through to the shield semi final where they faced a strong team from Gaelscoil Moshíológ. The girls got the better of them and came out with a win to take on a strong Kilanerin side.

The girls played their hearts out and were victorious! We are so proud of the girls after such a wonderful display. Mollie won player of the tournament. Maith sibh, cailiní!
