The Puppet Theatre

Our Aistear theme in March and April was the puppet theatre. We had great fun using the puppets and putting on different puppet shows for the class. We even designed and stitched our own puppets at the art station. We also created all sorts of imaginative characters and creations using the construction straws.

Camán Everybody!!! Room 1

The boys and girls took part in the Camán Everybody initiative for the last number of weeks. It develops basic hurling skills in a fun way, through games. The children really enjoyed painting their very own hurl before beginning the programme. A huge thank you to our wonderful and enthusiastic coach Paddy and to the Parents Council who sponsored all the hurls. As you can see from the pictures below, we had a ball!!!!

Our Junior Infant School Tour Room 1

We thoroughly enjoyed our first school tour in St. Joseph’s! We had such fun on the bus, in Kia Ora Farm and Kidzone. We all slept well Friday night!

Aistear is gone to Africa!

During the month of January we learned about Ella’s visit to Africa. In the classroom we set up African market stalls, made tribal jewellery, fruit and vegetable jigsaws, completed cut and stick activities, played a fruit and vegetable shopping list game, made fruit and vegetables with playdoh and also did some fruit printing.

Here is some other art work we enjoyed doing:
