World Book Day in Room 1 Junior Infants (part 2)
Accidentally omitted this photo of the two gruffalos in the original post.
Doctor Who? Room 1, Junior Infants
During Aistear time we enjoyed exploring the theme of the doctor and the doctor’s surgery. At the role play station we were busy being doctors, nurses, the receptionist and some very sick patients! At the fine motor station we continued to work on our cutting skills and also used playdoh to finish hospital themed pictures. We performed operations using the game “Operation”. Our art work was also based on the theme – we made stethoscopes, a doctor’s coat and we performed an operation on Humpty Dumpty – we all managed to put him together again!!!

Aistear is gone to Africa! Room 1, Junior Infants
In our English programme Over The Moon, Ella went to visit her granny in Africa. She had great fun visiting an African market, going on a safari trip and eating lots of African foods, especially the fresh fruit and vegetables. We set up an African market at the role play station. We made fruit and vegetable jigsaws. At the fine motor station we threaded shapes like the tribal jewellery for sale at the market. We also completed cut and stick activities. Finally at the art station we enjoyed printing different fruits. We also created polar bears and penguins.
