Planting in the school garden.
Senior Infants have been planting fruit trees and hedges in the school garden last week and this week. They did fantastic work and had lots of fun. They learned lots about planting, the parts of plants and what they need to live. Special thanks to Mrs. O’ Carroll and Alan for planting with us and getting everything ready.
A little bit of 1st Class gardening 💐
We went out into the garden today and planted some bulbs. Alan helped us prepare the soil by making holes deep enough, and spaced apart to allow our flowers 💐 to have enough room to grow. Each of us planted a bulb and will have our own flower growing in the next few months.
Planting for the Future in Junior Infants
An oak tree was sent to us by the tree council and we were delighted that Alan, our caretaker helped us find a spot to plant it. Also, we are very thankful to Stephen Sheridan (Finns’ daddy) who made us a beautiful plaque to mark the occasion.

Before we finished for our summer holidays, we harvested some vegetables that were ready and we decided that some should be left to grow over the summer and will be ready when we return in September. Jackie will be looking after them over the summer:
