Hello to all my Senior Infants!

I hope you are all keeping well and safe. Homework for St. Patrick’s week, the school week commencing March 23rd and additional worksheets can be found in each child’s ‘Homework Folder’. Please find additional work for the following 2 weeks below:

Gaeilge:

  • Cula4 have their own YouTube channel where the children can watch short videos in Irish based on different topics.
  • RTE player have a category dedicated to cartoons in Irish.
  • Futa Fata are also doing a ‘Sceal an Lae’ on their Facebook page every day. They also have a YouTube channel.

English:

  • Continue reading the class reader until the end. Homework will have brought us to page 46.
  • Pick words from the reader and put into sentences.
  • Get the children to keep a daily diary.
  • Practise the Jolly Phonics sounds and songs. All the songs can be found on Youtube.
  • The website www.topmarks.co.uk has lots of good literacy games and links to educational websites.
  • Another useful website is www.storylineonline.net. On this website the children can listen to stories being read aloud.

Maths:

  • Lots of good numeracy games on www.topmarks.co.uk.
  • Practise number formation. Worksheets can be downloaded from www.twinkl.ie.
  • We have recently begun learning to add 3 numbers to 10. Practise these sums with your child.
  • Topics we have recently covered in class and can be practised at home- 2D/3D shapes, money, sequencing and patterns, adding to 10 and subtracting from 10.

SESE/ Art/Religion:

  • Topic: Easter
  • The children can research the story of Easter  and the associated traditions. Resources can be found on www.topmarks.co.uk and www.twinkl.ie
  • Activities which the children could do:
  • Write sentences about what they have learnt about Easter and draw accompanying pictures.
  • Create a comic strip based on the story of Easter.
  • Using paper plates and paint, they could make an Easter bunny or chick.
  • Design and colour different Easter egg wrappers.
  • Grow in Love: Error on last week’s ‘Homework Sheet’, it should have said ‘Page 43’ not ‘Page 31’. Pages 40 t0 47 can be completed as these pages are based on Easter.

PE:

  • Online PE lessons- ‘P.E with Joe Wicks’ Monday to Friday 9am Live on YouTube ‘The Body Coach TV’
  • Dance lessons- www.gonoodle.com
  • Mindfulness/ Yoga for children- www.cosmickids.com

 

As Senior Infants do not have their copies home with them , any additonal written work can be completed on pages and put into the ‘Homework Folder’. All work will be corrected when we return to schooll
