I hope this email finds you all safe and well and that everyone had a lovely Easter. Tell the boys and girls I say hello and I’m missing each and every one of them. Below are suggested activities for the next fortnight. Please do not feel under pressure to complete all the activities, do what you can with your child. English
Sounds:
- Continue to revise all the Jolly Phonics sounds in your Sound Copy.
- Week 1: In your Sound Copy draw a picture of a word containing the “oi” sound eg. oil and the “ue” sound eg. barbecue.
- Week 2: Draw a picture of a word containing the “er” sound eg. dinner and the “ar”sound eg. car.
- Blending sounds in words: Sound out 5 words every day:
- Writing:
- Practise writing your name neatly.
- Letter formation; Week 1: “u”. Week 2: “v”. (As they don’t have their books at home, the children can practise on a sheet of paper or in a copybook. The children have already learned to form these letters informally in their Rainbow Writing Copies.)
- Start at the dot, come down and curve, go up, come back down again and flick.
- Start at the dot, slope down, slope back up and stop.
Reading
Week 1: Practise new vocabulary: went, up, down, ( The children will be able to use their knowledge of sounds to figure out “went” and “up”. They will not be able to sound out “down”. It is similar to other sight words learned, they will need to be able to look and say this word. By the end of the week they should be able to look and say all three words.)
Week 2: Read Book 8 : Up and Down (book online)

- Count from 1-10 forwards and backwards
- Practise writing numbers 1-5 correctly
- Draw sets containing 1/2/3/4/5 items
- Make sets of 1/2/3/4/5 using your dolls/teddies/ lego pieces etc.
- Busy At Maths Home/School Links Week 1: Introduce number 0/zero. Complete page 28 and 29. Week 2: Complete page 30 and 31.
SESE

Topic: Pets and Farm Animals (page 36-40). Children can complete these pages orally.
Fine Motor Skills
Continue to colour, cut out and stick pictures from magazines, play with lego/playdoh, make jigsaws etc.
