June 8th- 12th

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Well done on all the fantastic work completed last week. For anyone who has not received their report, please send me an email mkirwanji@hotmail.com

Below is a daily outline of work for the week. Again this week we will focus on English and Maths. Do not put yourself under pressure to complete everything, do as much as you can each day. If you would like to do more than this, feel free to choose some activities from the optional work at the end of the page. Thank you.

Monday:

Phonics – Continue to revise all Jolly Phonics sounds in Sounds Copy

Wordbox 17a – last five words (at end of post)

English reading – Revision of sight vocabulary from Edco reading scheme (part two)

Junior Infant Sight Vocabulary ji

Jolly Phonics Tricky Words: you, your, come, some, said.

(These words cannot be sounded out, they will have to be learned)

The children have come across the word ‘said’ in their reader so they should already know this word. The other four words are new. Daily practice of these words – look and say each word until they are familiar with them and recognise them on sight. Writing or printing each word separately on paper will help when practising them.

Maths:

We have now finished the Busy at Maths programme. I know the children really enjoyed the Busy at Maths interactive games. They can continue to revise all the junior infant concepts by playing interactive games using the Planet Maths programme.

Alternatively they may like to revise the newer concepts covered by completing pages in the Planet Maths ebook orally. The concept of combining is covered on pg.113-119 and money on pg. 122-128. Choose one activity daily.

Go to www.folensonline.ie and register

Select teacher

Fill in a username, email and password

For Roll Number use the code Prim20

In the Folensonline search engine enter Planet Maths Junior Infants. Click ebook to access the text book. Click resources to access the interactive games. The first few items are toolkits so you can ignore these. The games are listed as activities and will have a pencil icon beside each one.
