Ruffled Feathers

A local man, father of one of our students Thierry, Colin Travers, paid a visit to St. Joseph’s this week to show the children some of his birds of prey. Among them was Dora a Harris Hawk, a Tawny owl, an American Kestrel, a Little Owl, Maria a Great Horned Owl and Gizmo an adorable Barn Owl.
We learned so much about them and got to watch them eat and fly about in our classroom. We even got the chance to hold one and pet their beautifully soft feathers. Thank you so much Colin. This was an experience that we’ll remember for a long time to come.
